For Roger Federer, analyzing what caused his defeats from rivals Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal in the past is a waste of time. Rather, he’d focus more on what to do in order to beat them in upcoming matches.

“You could analyze in a big way but at the same time, it just happens sometimes. Of course I was disappointed at the way the match ended in Australia and also in Indian Wells but it is not the end of the world,” the former world number one said during a press conference at the ongoing Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, Florida.

Federer has not won a Masters event since 2007. Last week, he was beaten by Murray in the semifinals of the Indian Wells tournament. The Swiss star will be gunning for his first ATP title this season.

As for the Spaniard world number one, Federer said that an aggressive approach seemed to work especially when they battle for glory in hardcourts.

“On hard court I have to play aggressively against him. There is no way around that. I know how I have to play him. I’ve beaten him enough to know,” Federer said.

The 13-Grand Slam champion will still be a favorite in Miami considering that he had won the title twice.
