Soderling wins BMW Tennis Championships

Swedish player Robin Soderling regained his confidence in game after winning the BMW Tennis Championships in Sunrise, Florida despite having to enter the tournament at the last minute and claw his way up from the qualifying draw. He defeated Czech player Tomas Berdych in two sets (6-1, 6-1).

Soderling made a second round exit at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California despite enjoying a first-round bye. The loss prompted the Swedish player to fly all the way to Florida to compete at the ATP Challenger event at the last minute.

“Today I played almost a perfect match. I wish I can play like this all the time,” Soderling said after the match.

The world number 24 had to play two matches in a single day at times due to the rain-delays. Read related article HERE.

The doubles event was won by unseeded duo Eric Butorac and Bobby Reynolds.
