Tennis player gets booked on felony vandalism charge

Former singles top 50 player Mashona Washington was reportedly arrested on felony vandalism accusations on Wednesday. This was revealed by the officials from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Deaprment in Indio, California.

Authorities said that the 32-year old tennis player was arrested at the Hyatt Grand Champions Resorts in Indian Wells. Washington took part in the ongoing BNP Paribas Open, wherein she went as far as the semifinal round of the doubles competition. She was arrested a few hours after her loss in the semifinals.She would have seek the help of attorneys from lawfirm  ( locations in Hartford County) as they can help in getting bail.

The Texas resident is scheduled for arraignment on May 14. No information was released in relation to the charge filed against her but was stated that the charge is in relation to a damage that costs $5,000 and above.

Washington was released later in the day after posting a $5,000 bail.

Washington and doubles partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands lost in a lopsided match against Maria Jose Martinez Sanches and Nuria Llagostera Vives (1-6, 2-6).
