Who’ll portray Maria Sharapova?

Russian former world number one Maria Sharapova is rumored to be putting some of her hard-earned money on a MTV drama series that would portray her life – in some way – in the women’s tour.

This article written by Daniel Kaplan of the Sports Business Journal revealed some reliable information on the project.

According to the source, MTV wants a pilot episode produced first and if the network executives like what they see, then the project will be greenlighted. However, both camps have not commented officially on this development.

If this pushes through, Sharapova is following the footsteps of sisters Venus and Serena Williams, who worked together to produce a reality series shown in ABC Family four years ago.

There was no indication that Sharapova will act in the series. In fact, the sources could only say that the Russian will act as an executive producer of the show.
