Former tennis stars shift to reality TV

We’ve already seen former world number one tennis players such as Justine Henin, Martina Navratilova and Monica Seles having a great time appearing on reality TV shows. This may have prompted Jennifer Capriati and Martina Hingis to join the bandwagon.

According to Tennishead.net website, Hingis is currently in London filming for her upcoming appearance in a brand new ITV series titled “Beat the Star.” The five-time Grand Slam winner is set to compete with a contestant (a 22-year old dentistry student) in a series of physical and mental challenges. The episode will be shown this weekend.

Meanwhile, Capriati (a three-time Grand Slam winner) will also see herself in the same situation since the new version of “The Superstars,” where she’s scheduled to appear, is also about competition among athletes in a variety of challenges. Each athlete will have a celebrity partner.

“The Superstars” is set to premiere on June 23 on ABC Network. The show will have a six-episode run.
