ITF announces venues of Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal matches

The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announced this week the official host countries with respective match venues for the Davis Cup World Group quarterfinal matches from July 10 to 12 this year.

The remaining eight countries vying for the prestigious title are Argentina, Czech Republic, United States, Croatia, Israel, Russia, Spain and Germany.

Here are the details (countries in bold fonts are the HOST nations):

Czech Republic vs. Argentina
Venue: Cez Arena, Ostrava
Court: Indoor Hardcourts

Spain vs. Germany
Venue: Plaza de Toros, Marbella
Court: Clay

Croatia vs. United States
Venue: Zatika Sports Hall, Porec
Court: Clay

Israel vs. Russia
Venue: Nokia Stadium, Tel Aviv
Court: Indoor Hardcourts

Israel’s win over Sweden during the first round rubber last month garnered global attention due to the latter’s decision to hold the match under closed doors. ITF fined the Swedish Tennis Association $25,000 last week.
