Ivanisevic to take part in Grand Cayman Legends event

Former Wimbledon champion Goran Ivanisevic is scheduled to take part in this week’s Legends Championships Tennis Tournament at the Ritz-Carlton in Grand Cayman. This event is part of the eight events in this season’s Outback Champions Series. The $150,000 event will have single-elimination format with the champion receiving a $60,000 check.
The Outback Champions Series feature retired tennis players 30 years and above. In order to qualify, the player has to meet certain requirements – such as reaching at least a Grand Slam final, being ranked in the world’s top 5 or have taken part in a winning Davis Cup team. The Croatian achieved a career-high number two ranking during his ATP tour days and won the Wimbledon in 2001 after finishing runner-up three times prior.
