Crain’s New York Business reported that world number one Rafael Nadal may soon be penning a memoir chronicling his lustrous tennis career.
Literary agent Larry Kirshbaum is said to be making the rounds at a number of publishers, sending feelers as to who would be interested to market the autobiography of the 22-year old Spaniard. A formal proposal is yet to be submitted but this stage, several editors have already expressed interest in the venture.
Considering a large fan base, it is highly possible that Nadal’s memoir will be a hit. The six-time Grand Slam champion and Olympic gold medalist took over the top ranking in the men’s circuit last year, finally overtaking long-time rival Roger Federer.
There were no indications as to how much the deal would cost but the report cited a $5 million paycheck given by publishing house Knopf to retired tennis player Andre Agassi to pen a memoir.
More developments will be announced in the coming weeks.
