Rafael Nadal makes the TIME 100 cut

Time Magazine published on Thursday the final list of the world’s 100 most influential people this year, which included the current world number one player in men’s tennis.

Spaniard Rafael Nadal made it to this elite list which TIME wrote are “the people who most impact our world.

A piece on Nadal was featured in the magazine’s website which was written by fellow Australian Open 2009 champion Serena Williams. Check out the article HERE.

The title of the World’s Most Influential Person was a surprise. The honor went to a 21-year old student named Christopher Poole, the man behind online community site 4chan.org. He received a total of 16,794,368 votes with an average influence rating of 90. Poole easily beat perceived frontrunners such as US President Barack Obama, talk show host Oprah Winfrey and popular boxer Manny Pacquiao (who actually outperformed him in terms of online votes by nearly four million).
