Wimbledon 2009: Prize Money Breakdown

Tennis Guru received a request from an avid reader to come up with a prize money breakdown article for Wimbledon 2009 similar to what we have done for the French Open (see article). We’re happy to oblige.

There was a significant increase on the total prize money this year. Last year, it was £11,812,000. In 2009, following the increases in prize money on the singles events, the total reached £12,550,000. However, the weaker value of the pound against the U.S. dollar means that the winners will receive “less” if they convert their prizes to American currency (Read related article HERE.)
