French Open 2009: Kuznetsova, Stosur complete semifinal lineup

Australian spotlight is now on 30th seed Samantha Stosur after she crushed Romanian teen Sorana Cirstea 6-1, 6-3 to reach a Grand Slam semifinal for the first time in her career. Last January, it was Jelena Dokic who held the spotlight when she reached the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. This time it’s Stosur’s turn.

In the other quarterfinal, Russian seventh seed Svetlana Kuznetsova outlasted American second seed Serena Williams in a three set thriller 7-6 5-7 7-5 to reach the Roland Garros semifinals for the second year in a row.

Kuznetsova and Stosur will face off on Thursday for a spot in the finals. The other final slot will be contested between Russian top seed Dinara Safina and Slovakian Dominika Cibulkova.
