Queen’s Club: Andy Murray aims to end British title drought

World number three Andy Murray aims to become the first British player since Bunny Austin in 1938 to win the Queen’s Club title. However, he needs to beat American James Blake in the finals to achieve this feat.

Murray outlasted first-time grasscourt semifinalist Juan Carlos Ferrero 6-2, 6-4 while Blake only had to play in the first set against compatriot Andy Roddick after the latter pulled out due to foot injury incurred earlier in the match. The score was tied at 4-4 before Roddick decided not to aggravate the injury further.

In terms of head-to-head matches, Blake leads Murray (1-0). However, that match was played three years ago at the Hamburg Masters (a claycourt tournament).
