Roger Federer’s seventh consecutive final appearance in this year’s Wimbledon did not surprise everyone considering that he’s always been the favorite in this grasscourt Slam. On Sunday, he’ll be facing a familiar foe on the same stage, Andy Roddick. The two have met at the Wimbledon finals twice in the past (2004, 2005) with the Swiss player winning both. Overall, the pair have met 20 times with Federer holding an 18-2 advantage in the head-t0-head match ups.
Despite the dominance of Federer against the American on paper, it must be noted that Roddick had just defeated British world number three Andy Murray in the semifinals. Murray also holds a lead against Roddick in the head-t0-head matches.
Federer is gunning for the record-breaking 15th Slam title while Roddick is aiming for his second career Slam. Let’s see this Sunday who will prevail and hoist the trophy.

Should be a great final Guru.
Federer will prevail here, but Roddick is playing some of his best tennis ever. Volleying has improved dramatically with the American!

I agree. I don’t see any reason why Federer would lose this final but then there’s always that possibility…
