Other Sports: Manny Pacquiao vs Miguel Cotto November 14 showdown confirmed!

It’s officially confirmed. The highly anticipated boxing match between Filipino pound-for-pound king Manny Pacquiao and Puerto Riccan welterweight titleholder Miguel Cotto will push through and will take place on November 14, 2009 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

This development has been confirmed by Top Rank promoter Bob Arum on Monday. The fight will be shown on HBO Pay Per View (PPV).
It is expected that Pacquiao will be getting a bigger share of the money in the match. As for the weight limit, both have agreed on 145 pounds maximum.

Pacquiao made headlines in May this year after he knocked out Britain’s Ricky Hatton in just two rounds to win the junior welterweight title at MGM Grand. The 30-year old boxer already has world championship titles in six weight divisions.

28-year old Miguel Cotto defended his title against Joshua Clottey last June 13 at a close fight held at the Madison Square Garden in New York.
