Roger Federer’s wife Mirka gives birth to twin girls
By Tennis Guru on Jul 24, 2009
Roger Federer announced via his personal website and Facebook page that he’s now a father of healthy twin girls after his wife Mirka gave birth on Thursday night.
The world number one said that the girls have been named Myla Rose and Charlene Riva.
Here’s the statement Federer released via Facebook:
“I have some exciting news to share with you. Late last night, in Switzerland, Mirka and I became proud parents of twin girls. We named them Myla Rose and Charlene Riva and they are both healthy, and along with their mother they are doing great. This is the best day of our lives. ”
Federer has had a string of good fortunes for the past two months. After winning the French Open to complete a career Slam title, he went on to win a tough Wimbledon final earlier this month against Andy Roddick. His win at the All England Club marked his 15th Slam title, the most ever for a male tennis player.
