They’ve defeated their Russian semifinal opponents in contrasting fashion. Serena Williams toiled for nearly three hours to beat fourth-seed Elena Dementieva in what was considered one of the best ladies matches in the tournament. Meanwhile, Venus Williams only needed 51 minutes to dismantle world number one Dinara Safina.

With their head-t0-head match record tied at ten wins, the Saturday’s final will serve as a tiebreaker once more and everyone can’t easily predict who will win. After all, these two ladies have achieved so much in this grasscourt Slam. They’ve met four times previously in Wimbledon – all at the final stage – and they also took two titles apiece during those matchups (Venus – 2000, 2008; Serena – 2002, 2003)

Later on Saturday, both sisters will team up for the ladies doubles final where they’ll meet Rennae Stubbs and Samantha Stosur. The American duo are the defending champions of this event.
