America’s top player Andy Roddick and defending champion Juan Martin del Potro of Argentina headline the men’s field in this week’s Legg Mason Tennis Classic in Washington, D.C. Roddick, who finished runner-up for the third time in last month’s Wimbledon, will bid for his fourth-career Legg Mason title.
This year, the tournament has been upgraded to an ATP 500 event, which means that there’s a significant increase in prize money and ranking points.
Here are the top eight seeds of the singles event: Andy Roddick (USA)[1], Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG)[2], Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA)[3], Fernando Gonzalez (CHI)[4], Robin Soderling (SWE)[5], Marin Cilic (CRO)[6], Tommy Robredo (ESP)[7] and Tomas Berdych (CZE)[8].
