Martina Hingis gets the first boot from reality talent show

Five-time Grand Slam titlist Martina Hingis couldn’t gain the much needed public support to continue her journey in the new BBC reality talent show “Strictly Come Dancing.” The former world number one got the first boot from the TV show after she and partner Matthew Cutler got the lowest overall grade, a combination of judges’ scores and phone votes.

Hingis was relegated to the bottom two with crime presenter Rav Wilding, who his partnered with Aliona Vilani.

The “Swiss Miss” retired from tennis for the second time in 2007 after she was tested positive for cocaine and was banned for the sport for two years. The ban will be lifted in a few months time and there’s no indication yet whether she’ll give the professional sport another try.
