Making its debut this year, the Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions is the season-ending event for the WTA Tour’s International tournament winners.
The $600,000 event will take place in Bali, Indonesia from November 4 to 8, 2009 and it features 12 WTA stars that will be grouped into four. These players are the ten highest-ranked players who won at least one International tournament during this season and that they have not competed at the Sony Ericsson Championships – Doha 2009.
Here are the participating players with their respective International tournament wins: Marion Bartoli (Monterrey), Samantha Stosur (Osaka), Yanina Wickmayer (Estoril, Linz), Anabel Medina Garrigues (Fes), Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez (Bogota, Bastad), Shahar Peer (Guangzhou, Tashkent), Melinda Czink (Quebec City), Agnes Szavay (Budapest), Aravane Rezai (Strasbourg), Magdalena Rybarikova (Birmingham), Sabine Lisicki, Kimiko Date Krumm (Seoul), Vera Dushevina (alternate).
