Australian Open 2010: Panasonic signs three-year deal as major sponsor

Electronics giant Panasonic has reportedly signed a lucrative three-year major sponsorship deal with Tennis Australia. The agreement also covers the Australian Open Series events such as the Brisbane International and the Medibank International Sydney.

Panasonic Australia will be the official television, camera and air conditioning sponsor of Tennis Australia and the Australian Open beginning this year.

“We are excited to have Panasonic committing to what will be an enduring and successful relationship,” Tennis Australia’s CEO Steve Wood said in a statement.

“Their sponsorship will provide an enormous contribution to the game of Tennis and I look forward to working closely with Panasonic Australia in the future,” he added.

Panasonic Australia Managing Director Steve Rust said: “We are thrilled to sponsor Tennis Australia as the official TV, Camera and Air Conditioning partner, and be associated with one of the world’s most prestigious sporting events – the Australian Open.

The Australian Open 2010 takes place from January 18 to 31 at the Melbourne Park.
