Venus Williams wins in Hong Kong exhibition tourney

Venus Williams defeated Danish player Caroline Wozniacki in an exhibition match held in Hong Kong on Thursday. The match was shortened to a single set because of the rain. The score: 6-4.

The seven-time Grand Slam winner said that it feels good to perform well against a formidable player.

“I felt pretty good playing against such a competitive player.  She plays so well,” she said after the match.

Wozniacki is currently ranked higher than Williams with the former being the world number four and the latter at number six.

The Hong Kong tournament features twelve players divided into four teams representing Europe, Russia, Asia and the Americas. The tournament ends this weekend.
