The Australian Open, the first Grand Slam event of the season, begins on January 18, 2010 and ends on January 31, 2010. This hardcourt Slam has generated a lot of interest for the past few weeks as two former world number ones are back to compete with some of the biggest names in tennis. In the women’s side – Belgians and multiple Slam winners Justine Henin and Kim Clijsters will be seeing action in Melbourne since their brief retirement.
In the men’s side, Rafael Nadal has set his sights in defending the title. Last year, he won an epic five set match against Roger Federer. This scenario might happen this year as both players would almost certainly get the top two seeding.
