Roland Garros 2010: Three-way battle to world number one ranking
By Tennis Guru on May 24, 2010
Rafael Nadal‘s unbeaten streak in claycourt tournaments this year made him once more the heavy favorite to win this year’s French Open and even world number one and defending champion Roger Federer is aware of this fact. Not to be ignored is Serbian world number three Novak Djokovic who’s tough enough to make it in the latter stages of this tournament which began on Sunday.
These three players are in a three-way battle to world’s top ranking.
According to ATP stats expert Greg Sharko, Nadal can regain the top ranking from Federer if the Spaniard wins the tournament and the Swiss player loses before the semifinals.
As for Djokovic, he can take the world’s top ranking for the first time in his career if he wins the title and if Federer loses before the quarterfinal round.
