Swiss Indoors Basel 2010: Federer wins 65th career title

World number two Roger Federer hoisted his 65th career singles trophy after winning the Swiss Indoors Basel title on Sunday after beating defending champion Novak Djokovic in three sets 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

“It’s obviously a beautiful moment. It’s always very emotional and just a good feeling; I’m very happy,” said Federer.

“I’ve had a great history here. I can’t believe I’ve been in the final so many times and I’ve won already four times. I couldn’t be more happy today,” he added.

Federer won this title from 2006-2008 but was halted in the finals last year by Djokovic. This time he worked hard to reclaim the title from his home tournament.

After the tournament Federer treated the tournament ballboys and ballgirls with a pizza party to celebrate the victory. The 16-time Grand Slam champion served as a ballboy in this tournament when he was still a kid.
