Spain’s David Ferrer increased his chances of making the ATP World Tour Finals in London after beating Robin Soderling in the semifinals of the ATP 500 Valencia Open tournament in his home country this week. He will face compatriot Marcel Granollers in the title match.
Granollers made it to the main draw as a lucky loser and definitely luck was on his side after beating former world number six Gilles Simon of France 6-4, 6-4 on Saturday.
Ferrer won the Valencia Open title two years ago when this was still held in clay courts. It seemed like the Valencia native has no problems with the transition to hard courts as he’s made it to the final this time.
