The Australian Open 2011 Men’s Singles event won’t be seeing a match-up between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the final as these two great players have been eliminated by Novak Djokovic and David Ferrer respectively. The first semifinal between Roger Federer and 2008 Australian Open champion Novak Djokovic ended with the latter winning in straight sets.
The second semifinal will be contested between Andy Murray and David Ferrer. Ferrer leads in head-to-head matchups against Murray with the former winning 3 matches (all in claycourts) while Murray won their encounter twice (all in hardcourts) with their last match at the Barclays ATP World Tour Finals 2010 in London (won by Murray).
