Defending champion Juan Carlos Ferrero returns from injury in this tournament. The former world number one will aim to make a repeat of his successful Latin American swing last year where he won titles here in Buenos Aires. However, he’ll face tough competition such as top seed Nicolas Almagro and hometown bet Thomaz Bellucci.
