Australian Open 2011 champion Kim Clijsters heads the talented field which includes last year’s runner-up Lucie Safarova of the Czech Republic. Maria Sharapova will make her debut in the tournament which is co-directed by former world number one Amelie Mauresmo.
The $618,000 WTA Premier event will take place from February 7 to 13, 2011. 2010 GDF Suez champion Elena Dementieva has already retired from the WTA Tour by end of last year.
