Top Serbian tennis players receive diplomatic passports

In a bid to make their traveling easier, the Serbian government has issued diplomatic passports to its top-ranked tennis players.
According to press reports, Serbia’s Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic gave passports to the country’s Davis Cup team and to globally-recognized tennis stars such as Novak Djokovic, Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic.

Ivanovic and Jankovic have both reached the top ranking in the WTA Tour and are currently in the world’s top twenty. Meanwhile, Djokovic has been making waves this 2011 ATP season as he remained unbeaten so far. The Serbian world number two won the Australian Open 2011 and also swept three more major hardcourt events in Dubai, Indian Wells and Miami.
