The Barcelona Ladies Open 2011 begins this week at the David Lloyd Club Turo on red outdoor claycourts.
After losing in the opening round at Stuttgart, Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli accepted a wildcard at the Barcelona Ladies Open 2011 and became the tournament top seed at this $220,000 event.
The second seed is Romania’s Alexandra Dulgheru. The two-time Warsaw Open champ needs to perform well at this tournament to make up for the ranking points she’s going to lose (since Warsaw Open was dropped from the calendar).
