Five ATP and WTA tennis stars made it to the newest edition of Forbes’ Celebrity 100 – a list of the top one hundred “most powerful people in the entertainment business this year.”
There were 19 athletes who made it in the top 100. Tennis is the most represented sport in the list. These five players are World number one Rafael Nadal (Spain) and World number three Roger Federer (Switzerland) for the ATP Tour; Maria Sharapova (Russia), Venus Williams (USA) and Serena Williams (USA) for the WTA Tour.
Here are their respective rankings in the top 100: Federer (25), Nadal (46), Sharapova (80), Serena Williams (84) and Venus Williams (86).
The list is based on earnings and media visibility (teleivison, newspaper, radio, magazines, web and social media). Topping the list was entertainer Lady Gaga.
