Seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams of United States has pulled out of the French Open 2011 tournament citing hip injury. This officially confirmed speculations that both Venus and younger sister, 13-time Slam winner Serena Williams, won’t be playing during the claycourt season. Both sisters have already expressed their intention of participating at the Wimbledon 2011 tournament.
