Roland Garros 2011: Novak Djokovic goes 41-0 in 2011, reaches quarterfinals

Second-seeded Novak Djokovic is still on track to break John McEnroe’s record after winning his fourth round match at the French Open, beating France’s Richard Gasquet in straight sets 6-4, 6-4, 6-2. The world number two is now 41-0 this season and is just two matches away to overtake McEnroe’s 42 straight wins in a season. Adding up the two Davis Cup victories at the end of last season, Djokovic has won 43 straight matches.

Djokovic has been on the courts for three straight days as his previous match against Juan Martin del Potro was stretched to two days. He will face Italy’s Fabio Fognini in the quarterfinals.
