Roland Garros 2011: Novak Djokovic just a win away to clinch world number one ranking

Serbia’s tennis star Novak Djokovic just needs to win his semifinal match at the Roland Garros 2011 tournament to become the new world number one tennis player.

Djokovic was the first one to reach the final four at the French Open after his quarterfinal opponent Fabio Fognini of Italy announced on Monday that he won’t be able to play. The Djokovic – Fognini match was scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 31.

The 24-year old has compiled a 41-0 win streak record for 2011. If he fails to win his semifinal match (either against Roger Federer or Gael Monfils), he can still become world number one if Rafael Nadal fails to defend the title.
