The Mutua Madrid Open 2011 Women’s Singles Final Victoria Azarenka vs Petra Kvitova Match will certainly be an interesting coverage to watch as both players are projected to achieve career high rankings whether they’ll win or not.
By reaching the final, Azarenka will rise to world number four in next week’s rankings. She also set a new record for her home country as the highest-ranked Belarussian in WTA history (previous record was no. 5 by Natasha Zvereva). Meanwhile, Kvitova is now assured of becoming part of world’s top ten next week after she reached the Mutua Madrid Open semifinals.
Azarenka leads Kvitova in their head-to-head series with 2-1. However, it was Kvitova who won their last meeting, in last year’s Wimbledon where the Czech tennis star eventually reached the semifinals.
