2011 ATP World Tour Finals: Rafael Nadal qualifies for the year-end championships

World number one Rafael Nadal became the second player to qualify for the year-end ATP World Tour Finals 2011 after accumulating enough ranking points this season to do so. The first one to qualify was Novak Djokovic of Serbia. Nadal has qualified for the ATP World Tour Finals for the seventh straight year.

The ATP World Tour Finals features the world’s top eight singles players competing for top honors, cash prizes and massive ranking points. The event will take place at The O2 in London from November 20 to 27, 2011.

“It’s always a pleasure to play in London. It’s a fantastic city and The O2 stadium is one of the nicest indoor stadiums in the world. It was a fantastic tournament last year for me, playing in the final, with very emotional matches. I’m very happy to be qualified and to come back again this year,” Nadal said.

Nadal just won his sixth Roland Garros title on Sunday after beating long-time rival Roger Federer. It was the reverse in last year’s ATP World Tour Finals where Federer beat Nadal for the title.
