Davis Cup 2011: Novak Djokovic commits in upcoming Sweden vs Serbia match

World number two Novak Djokovic said that he will participate in the upcoming Serbia vs Sweden Davis Cup 2011 quarterfinal match in Halmstad, Sweden. This after top-ranked Rafael Nadal and Swedish no. 1 Robin Soderling announced that they won’t be participating in this tennis event which will start early July.

“I am on the team,” Djokovic said.

“But for Soderling, I’ve heard, yes, that he has pulled out.  I mean, regardless if he’s playing or not, we will come as the strongest team, the team that has won the Davis Cup title last year, because we are aware that we are going away from home,” he added.

Juan Martin Del Potro, who lost his fourth round Wimbledon match against Nadal on Monday, said that he will participate in Davis Cup when Argentina meets Kazakhstan in Buenos Aires.
