World number one Rafael Nadal is reportedly not going to take part in the upcoming Davis Cup match between Spain and United States from July 8 to 10. The Davis Cup Spain vs United States rubber will take place at University of Texas.
This development was reported by Marca, a Spanish newspaper today.
The Davis Cup Spain team will now consist of David Ferrer, Feliciano Lopez, Fernando Verdasco and Marcel Granollers. The Spain’s Davis Cup captain is former tennis player Albert Costa.
The United States Davis Cup team is captained by former world no. 1 Jim Courier and the multiple Grand Slam winner is expected to pick top American players Andy Roddick and Mardy Fish and world no. 1 doubles team Mike and Bob Bryan.
