Queen’s Club 2011: Murray beats French opponent to clinch title

World number four Andy Murray recovered from a first set slip to win the Queen’s Club title for the second time in his career after beating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France 3-6, 7-6, 6-4 on Monday. The title match was moved after rain on Sunday postponed the final matches.

Murray won the Queen’s title in 2009 and by winning the same this year makes him the first British player to win this Wimbledon warmup tournament at least twice since Francis Gordon Lowe nearly a century ago.

“It was an unbelievable week for me. I started off not playing great but managed to find my way through, and the last two matches were so much fun,” Murray said after the match.

World number one Rafael Nadal took part in this event but was ousted by Tsonga in the earlier rounds.
