NBC Sports reported today that the Roland Garros 2011 men’s singles final match between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal posted a 2.6 rating / 7 share, the highest overnight rating for the past 12 years. It was significantly higher from last year’s data of 1.6 rating / 5 share for the Nadal vs Robin Soderling final.
Rafael Nadal beat Roger Federer in four sets to claim his sixth French Open title and 10th Grand Slam title overall.
As for the women’s singles final between China’s Li Na and defending champion Francesca Schiavone of Italy, the rating was 1.7 / 5 share, which is the same as last year’s data.
