Belarussian world number five Victoria Azarenka reached her first career Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon 2011 after beating surprise quarterfinalist Tamira Paszek of Austria in straight sets 6-3, 6-1.
Paszek, who beat French Open 2011 finalist Francesca Schiavone on her way to the final eight, did not pose much threat to Azarenka. It’s her first career quarterfinal at a Grand Slam.
Azarenka will next face Petra Kvitova of Czech Republic.
