The Bank of the West Classic 2011 starts on July 25 and marks the start of the 2011 US Open Series for WTA stars. Eight of the world’s top twenty are taking part in this WTA Premier tournament. The top four seeded players are Victoria Azarenka [1]; Maria Sharapova [2]; Marion Bartoli [3] and Samantha Stosur [4].
Fans of Serena Williams certainly will keep track of the 13-time Grand Slam champion’s progress in this tournament. Williams made her comeback at the WTA Tour six weeks ago and was granted a wildcard entry at the 2011 Bank of the West Classic. Her first round opponent is Anastasia Rodionova.
