2011 US Open Men’s Draw: defending champion Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer lead men’s field

The United States Tennis Association (USTA) announced that the world’s top 101 male tennis players received direct entry into the 2011 US Open which will take place at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in Flushing Meadows, New York from August 29 to September 11.

Current world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia leads the entry list. The tennis star from Serbia won the 2011 Australian Open and 2011 Wimbledon and is seeking his first US Open title. He reached the final twice, including last year where he lost to Rafael Nadal of Spain.

World number two Rafael Nadal enters the tournament as the defending champion. The Spaniard won his tenth career Grand Slam singles title at the 2011 French Open.
World number three Roger Federer of Switzerland is aiming for his sixth career US Open title and record-setting 17th Grand Slam title.

The world’s top ten players are also in the list: no. 4 Andy Murray of Great Britain (2008 US Open runner up); no. 5 Robin Soderling of Sweden (two-time French Open finalist); no. 6 David Ferrer of Spain; no. 7 Gael Monfils of France; no. 8 Tomas Berdych of Czech Republic; no. 9 Mardy Fish of USA and no. 10 Andy Roddick of USA (2003 US Open champion).
