ATP announces prize money increases on ATP World Tour events for next three years

The ATP, the governing body of the men’s professional tennis circuits such as ATP World Tour, ATP Challenger Tour and ATP Champions Tour, announced that the prize money for all tournaments will increase for the next three years following a multi-year agreement that was secured by the organization.

There will be a nine percent increase on the ATP World Tour Masters 1000 events in each of the next three years. The prize money of the year-end ATP World Tour Finals will see a 30 percent increase over the next three years. This means that the total cash purse will rise from $5 million to $6.5 million. The player bonus pool, payable to the world’s top twelve eligible players will be increased from $6 million to $8 million in 2014.
“We are very pleased to have reached this agreement that reflects the fact that business across the ATP World Tour is stronger than ever. We are privileged to be experiencing a golden era in men’s professional tennis, and it is fitting that the commitment and excellence of the players is recognized and rewarded in this way,” ATP Executive Chairman and President Adam Helfant said.
