Robin Soderling wins 2011 Swedish Open

World number five Robin Soderling won the Swedish Open for the second time in three years after beating David Ferrer of Spain 6-2, 6-2 on Sunday’s final.

The Swede has already won four tournaments this year and dominated the claycourt tournament.

Ferrer, a noted claycourt specialist, never recovered from the match after conceding the first four games of the second set. The loss increased Soderling’s head-to-head series lead against the Spanish rival to 10-4.
