Thailand Open 2011: Three top-ten players confirm participation

The ATP Thailand Open 2011 promises to be the most interesting tennis event in Asia after three of the world’s top ten players confirmed their participation at this tournament as early as last month.

Thailand Open 2011 organizers headed by Executive Committee Chairman Suwat Liptapanlop revealed that world number four Andy Murray, number five Robin Soderling and number seven Gael Monfils have already signed up for the competition which takes place at the InterContinental Bangkok from September 26 to October 2, 2011.

High profile players have already taken part in this tournament in the past including two-time champion Roger Federer (2004-2005), James Blake, Taylor Dent, Novak Djokovic and Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Spain’s Rafael Nadal made his debut in this event last year as world number one but lost in the semifinals.
“We are looking forward to an amazing tournament at the PTT Thailand Open 2011,” Lipatapanlop said in a statement.

“We will be announcing more exciting players to compete in the event in the near future. I am confident that this year’s tournament will be the biggest and best ever,” he added.
