Gluten-Free Diet improves Novak Djokovic’s Tennis Game

An interesting article at the ATPWorldTour website surfaced this week and it tackled on the popular nutritional trend called “gluten-free diets.” It can be recalled that new world number one Novak Djokovic revealed earlier this year that he’s starting the gluten-free diet after finding out that he has coeliac disease – a condition wherein he is intolerant to gluten found in many grains. This meant that he could not eat food like pasta, bread and pizza.

The new health regimen paid off with the Serbian star reaching three Grand Slam finals since the 2010 US Open and won two this 2011 season – the Australian Open and Wimbledon. Djokovic also compiled a 41-0 start this year before he lost in the French Open semifinals. That defeat in Paris still remained his lone loss this season so far.
