Venus Williams pulls out of 2011 Rogers Cup

Venus Williams remains winless at the Rogers Cup.

The former world number one has reportedly withdrawn from this week’s Rogers Cup due to illness.

Williams arrived late last week to take part at the prestigious hardcourt tournament, to be held this year at Toronto. On Sunday, the 7-time Grand Slam champion went to see a doctor and was diagnosed with a viral illness.

Williams said that she’s “extremely disappointed” that she won’t be able to play at the Rogers Cup where her record stays 0-3 (W-L).
The 2011 Rogers Cup has a very tough field headed by world number one Caroline Wozniacki.
