Wimbledon wins 3D Technology Award

The ground-breaking 3D coverage of The Championships, 2011 has been recognised in the 2011 Sport Technology Achievement Awards.

The AELTC, in combination with the BBC, CAN Communicate, Sony Professional and NEP Visions have been awarded for ‘Outstanding achievement in Stereo 3D.’

The Awards will be presented at the Sixth Annual Sport Award Reception at IBC on Saturday 10 September at the RAI Centre, beginning at 17:30.
“For six years the Sport Technology Achievement Awards have honoured innovators like HBS, OBS, France Televisions, SIS Live for work on events like the World Cup, Olympics, and more,” says Martin Porter, SVG Europe co-executive director. “This year’s recipients continue a tradition of innovation in sport production that advances the sport production marketplace.”

Outstanding Achievement in Sports Broadcasting: Ryder Cup Golf 2010, to be presented to European Tour Productions and CTV

Outstanding Achievement in Stereo 3D: Ryder Cup Golf 2010 (presented to BSkyB, Sony Professional, and Telegenic) and Wimbledon 2011 (presented to BBC, CAN Communicate, Sony Professional, AELTC and NEP Visions)

The 2011 SVG Europe Federation Award: Presented to Formula One Management
