Ksenia Pervak wins first WTA title in Tashkent

Russia’s Ksenia Pervak won her first career WTA title at the Tashkent Open, a $220,000 International-level event. The young Russian beat Czech Republic’s Eva Birnerova 6-3, 6-1. Pervak is the top-seeded player in the tournament and collected $37,000 for winning the tournament plus a brand new car. The doubles event was won by Vitalia Diatchenko and Eleni Daniilidou.

Pervak’s ranking rose from 52nd to 37th after the tournament win.
